  1. I have a similar rattle in my 07 on the driver's side. It sounds like it's coming from the back door and sounds kind of like something tapping glass. I've already had the BAMR interior trim rattle corrected and it's still holding up, so I can't figure out what it is either. Let me know if you take it back to the dealer and they find something. I haven't been able to take mine in for that yet and if I turn the radio up, it over powers the noise, so I've just dealt with at thsi point.
  2. My apologies...I guess the car charger correlation just over powered my thought process on what was actually happening with our vehicles. I should know to RTFM before I reply...speaking of which... TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT. Displayed when a tire pressure sensor is malfunctioning, or your spare tire is in use. For more information on how the system operates under these conditions, refer to Understanding Your Tire Pressure Monitoring System in the Tires, Wheels and Loading chapter. If the warning stays on or continues to come on, have the system inspected by your authorized dealer. I don't guess you're running your spare at the moment...
  3. Well, I think mine was jsut due to the psi being 30 all the way around. the light did not come on the following morning.
  4. I find it interesting the number of folks that don't use the recirculate feature or use it initially then turn it off. Anytime I turn on the AC, I hit Auto, then the recirculate button for 2 reasons: a) by recirculating, your cooling air that has already been cooled (much more efficient and effective than continuously cooling down outside air); and 2) I can't stand smelling the diesel ahead of me while sitting in traffic (usually a bus) or the guy/gal sucking butt on a cancer stick (I hate the smell of cigarettes). If you're not using the recirculate feature, it's definitely going to take it longer to cool off. I live in the Atlanta area as well and agree, vent the BAMR or crack a window intially, and with the recirc on, after about 10 minutes, I'm bumping the temp up from 60-65 to 70-72 to keep from freezing. As for the direct air flow/volume, it cools off so easily to me, I don't even think about it not blowing directly on me. My '97 Explorer would blow directly on me, but the Edge cools much better.
  5. This is interesting as my light came on this morning as well. I checked when I got to work and they all looked visibly fine. When I got home I checked the pressure and all 4 were at 30 psi, so I pumped them up to 35. not sure yet if that has fixed it, but what I just realized is I have a new 'Just Wireless' car charger for my wife's phone and I plugged it in last night to charge overnight. I think this is the first time I've done that but the charger has been plugged in for sometime. We've used while riding around, but this is the first instance I can think of for an overnight charge. I wouldn't think though that would cause a problem unless the TPS sensor receiver is on all the time as well. I'll have to keep an eye out for that as well. Thanks for the post.
  6. I was wondering if it was black or carbon. Carbon is the best color if I do say so myself. cbEdge, the ink blue didn't come out until the '08 model; the carbon was only offerred on the '07, so one day, we'll have a rare classic in carbon...
  7. I don't have a GPS to verify it, but I did as you setting the cruise at what appeared to be about 83 on the speedo then reset the avg MPH and it read 80. I did it several times on this trip as I-16 is so long and boring unitl you get to a few spots where you can turn it loose. I also noticed on some of the radar signposts that it was about 2-3 less than the speedo.
  8. From an 07 Edge OM: Under Breaking-In your vehicle: Drive your new vehicle at least 500 miles (800 km) before towing a trailer. Additionally, during the first 500 miles (800 km) that you tow a trailer, do not drive over 70 mph (112 km/h) and do not make starts at full throttle. This style of driving will help the engine and other parts of your vehicle break in at the heavier loads. Under Towing section: • Do not tow a trailer until your vehicle has been driven at least 500 miles (800 km). I'm no engine expert, just relaying what I know is in the manual.
  9. Spoiler color is model dependent (for the Edge anyway, I believe MKXs are all gloss black) meaning SE models come with black spoilers regardless of vehicle color; SEL (I think) and Limited comes with color matched spoilers.
  10. Not that you have any reason to doubt Grey, but he's right, the MKX clads are not plastic; on the Edge, however, clads are plastic.
  11. I did and have hardly listened to any local FM stations for almost a year now. The best benefit to me is if you travel alot, you don't have to search for stations as they come in range. You have all channels available anywhere; except for the occasional tree cover and underpasses...

  13. You must be related to Sweetie...can you post that a few more times please? I'm not sure we got the message...
  14. Might I suggest placing your Edge in Park and setting the parking brake to ensure your Edge remains in your garage...
  15. I went 7 miles past "0 to Empty" and put in 21 gallons (in a 19.2 gallon tank) when I did fill up. That doesn't seem to add up...
  16. From the manual of an '07 (not very helpful though): The RSS automatically turns on when the gear selector is placed in R (Reverse) and the ignition is ON. A control in the message center allows the driver to disable the system only when the ignition is ON and the gear selector is in R (Reverse). Refer to Message center in the Driver Controls chapter for more information. *** Reverse Sensing System (Park assist) (if equipped) This feature sounds a warning tone to warn the driver of obstacles near the rear bumper, and functions only when R (Reverse) gear is selected. 1. Select this function from the SETUP menu to disable the reverse sensing system feature. 2. Press the RESET control to turn the rear park assist OFF. When R (Reverse) gear is selected, PARK ASSIST OFF will be displayed.
  17. Welcome (from one carbon to another...the best color choice) I have everything but the nav/entertainment w/ black leather...I'm sure you will enjoy your new ride! I still am after 10,000+ miles!
  18. Confirmed, if you hit tilt, the sun shade opens all the way prior to the actual opening of the roof.
  19. Carbon is THE BEST color to get and the BAMR blends in very well with it, however, they discontinued that for the '08s. Oh well, your loss I guess.
  20. You can vent the roof (the back edge tilts up an inch maybe) but I'm almost 99% sure the sun shade has to be open all the way. If I think about it I will check it out on the way home today. You can open the shade partially, but to open or "tilt" as the button says, I think it has to be open all the way. That's a good way to speed up the cooling as well. Tilt it open, AC wide open, pushes the hot air out, then close it and get frosty...
  21. I can answer a few: 2: the few curbs I rubbed as I was getting used to having a wider vehicle was absorbed by the tires (never touched the wheel); they sure are easy to clean! The clads get a lot of hate mail around here, but to each his own. 4: I kept the sun shade closed most of the summer and my black leather never got extemely hot. Even hit triple digits and it was never uncomfortably hot, plus the AC cooled it down fairly quickly as well. 5: I'd stay away from the reds just in case, you never know, but that's just me... :glare:
  22. Other side of Ga - Woodstock. I was going to say "go dawgs" as well.
