This is a good post. I have many of the same problems. The main ones that I have in common are: - MP3 Player is slow, some songs skip, and go to next track, now I have the problem where bluetooth and usb have no audio. - I have had the auto wipers come on in dry conditions, for no reason - occasional system resets, probably more like once every 2 weeks. - in general the system is slow, which could be the cause to many of these problems. Not sure, but it seems much slower then it should. My favorite system crash is when the windows error pops up and then goes away. nice to be reminded the system is made by microsoft. LOL I guess I should go to the dealer one of these day's, I just don't have the time. Dan

This is the CURT Part Number: C12036. It is a 1-1/4" Receiver. I only do some occasional Light Duty Towing, so I had no need for the 2". I would do a Full extension plate if I was going with the 2" as was stated by Edgieguy, but for the smaller hitch, only 350lbs max tongue weight, and I'm only towing about 1250 lbs, I was comfortable with this setup.

I also installed the hitch, and did it slightly different. I did not cut the bumper. I used longer bolts, and spaced the hitch down with an extra nut between the car and the hitch. I did need to grind the hitch a little as the mufflers were not even from below, but once I did that, it all fit perfectly. (the muffler slightly touched the hitch and was vibrating). now there is no noise, and did not have to cut anything on the car. I can post a picture of my install later today if you want.

Already on V2.4 this happened after the update... about 3 weeks or so.

Well, I've been gone for a bit,because my sync has been OK, aside from a few usb hiccups. Now my Nav has stopped working. It will not read the SD Card, and when the SD card is in, the whole system runs really slow. I was going to go to the dealer today, but the weather is not the best, so I will wait till later this week. I'm getting a bit annoyed with the system because the total group of problems that have surfaced show how little this system was tested. I'll post back after I find out the problem.

That would work, but I then proceeded to throw them with the snow blower... so they flew somewhere, and I don't know where.... since I'm not sure when it flew out. -
Well, After the snow in NJ the past day, I was snow blowing the driveway, and now my key is gone.. some where in the snow... I have tried a metal detector, and have not been able to find it. Can anyone think of a way, being that it is the intelligent access key, to pick up the signal to locate it? I don't want to wait till the snow melts, because that will probably kill the key, as well, I need other things off of the keys. Thanks in advance.. Dan

just was reading the specs of the my ford and the my Lincoln systems. I noticed that there are different ambient light pallets for each system, I wonder if ford is using the same update on ford and Lincoln systems and that is why the ambient lights are wrong, and why I have the Lincoln logos on my home screen. ok, that's enough posts for tonight

Some more good news for my system, the USB Audio that never worked is now working, so is the voice commands for it. Also, for the first time I got in the car (after leaving while using BT Audio) and the car picked up the phone, and started playing BT Audio from it. So I think the latest USB Firmware update made things a bit better. I think maybe 1-2 more updates from ford, and it will work the way it should have a couple months ago. Last 4 gripes - 1. Overall system speed 2. Lincoln logo on my ford edge home screen 3. Ambient lights not correct in the menu 4. When I hit quick dial, it shows a menu for like 5 second telling me how to set a quick dial, even though I have not more quick dial space... it should be called quick dial for a reason, not waste my time telling me about it. I think there might be other little things, but those are the ones I care about. Liking the system more each day..

Ok, a couple days after the update, and now my Bluetooth audio started working again.. not sure if there is some time right after the update while it has to do some work, but i remember the same thing happening after the dealer did an update. Now if they could fix the Lincoln Logo and the Ambient Light problem, this would fix all my problems.... Then they will probably introduce some more with the applink... lol Beside all these little problems, I love the car.. I've accepted that the 3.7l will never get great gas mileage though.

I just installed th latest update via usb now, the logo is still there, and now my bluetooth audio stopped working all together again. I don't see how they are planning to run apps on this, if they can't even get the core parts to function correctly.

Can anyone let me know if this is the same for you? When you are in the home screen of sync, (the 4 quadrant thing) then press home again, and that brings up a menu of 3 options, Select the top one of a blank screen, (The second is the 4 quadrant thing, and the third is a menu style). When it loads, mine shows a Lincoln Logo instead of the Ford Logo. Let me know if this is the same for you too. BTW... The rest of the system is still good except for the Ambient light being wrong, and the occasional reboot when using bluetooth stereo. Thanks Dan

What I think made the difference for me was that they replaced the APIM Module. that made my system more stable. The software side of things though, I think they are getting closer, but I don't think that should be considered a finished product by ford. they obviously rushed to get this out.

I have the same color issue with the Ambient Lighting. not sure if i am on the new update, but my car was worked on with ford because my whole system went dead 4 days after i got the car. They replaced some hardware, and it has been much better. I have noticed a couple things. 1. Ambient Lighting colors mixed up 2. Bluetooth audio worked for 3 days, now just disconnects when I try to use it 3. USB Memory Stick plays, but there is no audio. Timer goes, but nothing on the speakers.. even if I turn it up all the way. Regarding the Remote start I'm not sure what the manual states, but I found that if I hit the lock button twice so the car beeps, then hit the remote start twice right after that, the car starts 95% of the time. I need to get the time to get into the dealer. I'm debating whether to go to the dealer that i bought the car from(about 30 mins away) or the closer ford dealer where i got my wife's Fusion (about 5 mins away) but they do not offer a loaner, where the dealer I bought my car from does.... i feel just as inconvenienced either way... Besides the 3 issues listed, I do love the car. On a side note, I found out that proclipusa.com will be putting out a mount for the 2011 ford edge's next week, so I can finally get the mount for my phone to keep it out of the cup holder.

I just wanted to post some goo dnews on this forum. I have got my car back, and all is well. they replaced the APIM, and did a software flash, and it is working perfectly. No Reboots, Bluetooth audio works, it's still a little laggy, but better then it was before, but not bad enough to complain about. Only 1 weird thing. The ambient lighting the colors on the screen do not match the color on the dash.. but that's not a real problem. I just need to scroll through to get the color i want. I can live with that if all else works. Hope they can fix the problems for every one else.

Just wanted to post that this is the 7th day that my car has been at the dealer.. I bought it just 11 days ago. Does not sound like they got the part in today, so it's going to be at least 8 day's tomorrow..

Just got the Call.. Flash did not work, they have ordered what they called a new APIM, the device that controls the systems, and hope to get it replaced tomorrow.

I know. They said they ordered a cable from a 3rd party on wednesday, and that it did not show up on friday like it was supposed to. I don't think that I will be using this dealer again, even though they have already offered my 3 free oil changes..

Well, now that ford has had my car since last week Wednesday, they have been trying hunt down a Female to Female USB Cable so they can flash my system. They said that ford told them that this flash will fix the problems with the MyFord Touch System. We will see. They also said that ford had a 3 week back order from dealers trying to get this special cable, so that they had to borrow it from another dealer. I hope that ford can get their act together. I would really like to drive me car. I have had it less time then it's been at the dealer. My fear is that my system is dead (it won't even turn on now) and that flashing it will not revive it. Then they need to order a new system, and with the holiday weekend, I will not have my car until december.... Lemon law is 3 tries at fixing the same problem, or 20 days with out your car. I'm coming up on both much faster then I thought I would have...

Just got back from the ford dealer. they tried resetting the system.. nothing.. they have no idea. they have to call the ford hotline.

My dealer just acknowledged that ford / MS is having problems, and that he would try to get it running for me tomorrow morning. I'll see what happens. I'm not going to deal with a car that I can't even listen to the radio in.. Luckily, I can stream Pandora through my cell phone for now(using the cell phone speaker), but that is not going to keep me happy for more than a day or 2.
