  1. Dont know what year you are looking for but recalls and TSB's can be found here for FREE. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallsearch.cfm Recall link http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/tsbs/results.cfm TSB link
  2. I can fit like 120 to 150 songs on one MP3 disc. You mix and match the songs and it will be like listening to Sirius because you are guaranteed to hear music you like, it will always sound perfect, you have a wide variety of songs and if you do not like the 150 MP3's on that one disc burn another or throw another disc in that you keep in your glove box. This is exactly what I do. I don't even listen to FM anymore! Save your money you spend on Sirius and buy one stack of of blank CDR's and throw the rest on to an iTunes account and disconnect Sirius. I guarantee in one year you would have saved some cash plus been happy with the quality of the sound of the music you are playing.
  3. I do not have a gas cap on my 2011 Edge, was this an option or something?
  4. You did a good job, not my cup of Tea but you did a good job making it look clean and perfect fitting.
  5. I had Sirius on two vehicles and the quality sucked. I had it on my 1998 Windstar with a high end radio and speaker system and on a 2010 Escape rental. Some channels sounded OK but they all sounded like they were broadcasted out of a cardboard box, like a hollow sound. I am into high end sound and Sirius does not provide it except for maybe a few channels. I mostly listen to MP3's that are burned onto CD's. I have a small iPod shuffle that sounds better than Sirius.
  6. You should of seen my 2001 Corvette then. 24,000 miles and it went through 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles. There is actually a GM TSB about this issue but since I was not the original owner GM wouldnt fix it but they offered to do the job and I would pay half for a total of $1750 out my pocket. 6 speed transmission replaced right after I bought it due to a failure at 14,000 miles (actually when I picked it up it had issues, MFG defect they said) Drivers power seat track replaced, power brake booster replaced, EGR air valve replaced, blower motor and resistor replaced. All were replaced under 24,000 miles. I bought it with 14,000 miles on it. This car brand new was approx $45,000. Now you see why I traded it in for the 2011 Edge.
  7. Yeah if it is a 2010 I wouldnt have put graphite in there since it is 100% covered by warranty, a tech might notice it and say the graphite is to blame for the issue. Good Luck!
  8. I have a video but this site will not let me upload it. I can not find out what type of files are permitted here either, i just see Max. single file size: 10MB but that doesnt tell much since my file is 6MB.
  9. And when I got my key made I asked the dealer again and they said it had PATS only, he looked up by the VIN. I have a scan of the window sticker that cleary shows no You tell me where exactly I need to look and I will shoot you a video to show you there is no alarm on my base 2011 Edge.
  10. If you can see the sunlight through ANY filter there are holes in it this is just pure science and you can not deny science because the filter is a porous material and that has holes in it . If they were so bad dont you think they would void every vehicle warranty and damage every engine they are installed in but they dont void any warranty! Yes I know about the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act where aftermarket things will not void a warranty, however if it is proven that the aftermarket part does void the warranty the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is void. So therefore K+N would not stand behind their products and would state "For Off Road Applications Only" where the warranty does not exist and it is up to the consumer to decide if they want to void their own warranty or not! I go by experience with well over 98,000 miles on one engine with clean drain oil that always used a K+N filter. This engine was also Supercharged and you know Superchargers use air and compress it so your car is using more air than a regular car. I beat the hell out of this car, by what your saying my filter should have let dirt in and my engine should have blown due to contaminants going through the filter and getting in my oil. I have a friend that has 250,000 on his engine and 200,000 of them were with a K+N filter. Go read how K+N tests their filters. http://www.knfilters.com/efficiency_testing.htm http://www.knfilters.com/efficiency_testing_procedure.htm They also offer this Warranty. http://www.knfilters.com/warranty.htm
  11. Nope. When I programed my extra key there was NO light nor there is NO flashing red light. On top of my dash there is a delete plug where the light would be and nothing flashes on my guage cluster. Are you sure EVERY vehicle comes like this? I will make a video for you if you do not believe me!
  12. Then it is a solid mass that can not breath air. Really all air filters have holes in them.
  13. There may be microscopic pinholes that seem big however the filter is oiled so it traps the dust that way. Now look at a dirty K+N and you will not see them pin holes. If you hold a regular filter to the sun you can also see microscopic pin holes, if there wasn't pin holes it would be a solid mass and air would never get through!
  14. Rolled down the window, hit the "lock" button on the remote and left the vehicle alone. Came back about 1 hour later and stuck my hand inside the vehicle and opened the door. Also when I had my extra key made they said it only had PATS but no alarm.
  15. So when you take out the old screws and put them back in is just like drilling a hole. Paint will be chipped in the threads unless you decide to seal up the screw holes after removing them. This goes for any screw that is in metal on your vehicle. You can not remove a screw with out exposing fresh metal to the environment! Anyway if you do drill holes all you need to do is clean the holes after drilling and apply touch-up paint to the area you drilled in, let the paint dry thoroughly and then apply touch-up paint to the threads of the screw and screw it in. This will seal the fresh metal and prevent rust. Been doing this for years with no rust issues.
  16. I had no alarm on my 2011 Edge and it had the keyfob remote. If you have that flashing red light on the dash or the THEFT flashing on the gauges there is an alarm.
  17. I run one in my 1998 Windstar too, yep the oil is black however it also has 137,000 miles on it. The 1998 Explorer has a little cleaner oil but that has 100,000 miles on it. On my old 2001 Corvette had a K+N after a 8000 mile oil change the oil was clean looking but this car only had 24,000 on it. I ran one on my 1992 Mustang that was Supercharged, clean looking oil at 3000 miles running Castrol Syntec 5W50 with 98,000 miles on it. It isnt the filter it is the engine and what type of fuel you run that also makes a difference. The 2 cars that has clean oil always ran top tier fuel, no garbage gas. If you can see through a K+N filter it was damaged during clening.
  18. It looks just like a Moving blanket with ties to attach it down, for sure this will not let the toe nails damage anything.
  19. I appreciate the info, hopefully it will help everyone out.
  20. I have no issues with this. I am 5,10 or 5,11 approx and the only Issues I had were on the newer Explorers.
  21. OK I would like to see Pictures of the differences, not a description. This way I can print them out and go to the dealer.
