  4. In other post, I had stated I was considering painting the black grille on my 2011 Sport to the body color. My daughter is the graphics artist, so I asked her to give me a digital representation of what it would look like. Quality is not the best - pic is of the truck inside a dark garage, but the idea was well represented in her work. As you can see, we opted not adding color to the mesh area between the bars on the grille. It looks pretty good with the color & I am still mulling it over. For others interested, you can judge what result would be without being suprised. Randy edgecolorgrille.bmp
  5. I called the dealer on 12/10 to see if my Sport arrived & it did & we have it. I never got to drive the 2011 Sport, so I was not sure what to expect with the ride with those big wheels, but I was pleasantly suprised (as was the wife). A little stiff, but no more that I thought it would be & VERY comfy on the highway. The car looks gorgeous in the candy red - I know black & pearl white are the hot colors in here, but my preference was the red & was not disappointed. I might decide to paint the grille red (I work in a body shop). My daughter said she would Photoshop the grille red to give me a preview of it so I can decide whether to do it or not. The weather has been crappy here in Chicago the last few days, so when it clears I hope to put up some pics.
  6. That really sucks. Should not take that long just to get a VIN. Have you worked your way up the food chain at the dealership?
  7. I stopped dealing with the sales staff & went to the owner of the dealership. Even with the order I dealt with the owner & he was the one to give me the VIN.
  8. I ordered my Edge Sport about mid November - Candy red with only the nav. package as an option. I read in here some time ago that you could use Sync to see if your vehicle was produced. It would seem this does work. 1) You need the VIN assigned (which should be available within a week or so of the order 2) log on to syncmyride.com & register your vehicle on the sight 3) activate & update any programs associated with your vehicle. Until the factory installs activates & updates, you will receive a message that there is a problem with your VIN (obvious since the vehicle does not exist yet). Today I checked syncmyride & did not have the error message & in the download & installation section it gave the dates of the activation. Called the dealer & they confirmed the Edge was in transport Hope this suggestion helps others who have dealers that are not very informative on vehicle status
  9. Thanks everyone for the input. I took the wife to the dealer to let her test drive one because I ordered the truck before talking to her about it :o Like most dealers, no one around here has a Sport so we had to drive the Limited FWD. All worked out well & she said to add the navigation package to the order. You know, so we don't have to stop & ask for directions Found performace data while doing some searches putting 0-60 in under 7 secords - not too bad for 4500 lbs. I saw some posts in here about the sport not having the projector head lamps, but according to window stickers on line, it comes with them.
  10. Hello, My name is Randy & I ordered my Edge Sport last week. Was hedging the fence, almost bought a 2010 & decided to wait for the upgraded Sport for 2011. Had to order it because I wanted no extra options & only wanted FWD (I have a Subaru & F250 if I need 4WD). The only option was the candyapple red paint. Had a hard time with the dealers. It seems the sales people don't have much time for you if they do not have it in stock. I had to go to the general manager of the dealership to get me a price (and this is a place I buy parts from on a daily basis - I own a repair shop). I'm really going out on a limb with this purchase because I did not test drive the 2011 Sport (No one around here has one in stock in FWD). Hopefully it will live up to the hype. Would be interested in other peoples opinions of their 2011 Sport.
