  1. Perhaps the answer is buried in the owners manual, but from poking around the new Ford Edge 2011 Limited "My Touch" dashboard, I can't seem to find a gage which measures the battery strength in volts. The high-tech (almost spaceship like) dashboard of the new Edge seems to display everything else but the kitchen sink, but I can't find any reference to how the battery is doing. I plan to keep my radar detector plugged in to the 12v power accessory plug, and would like to measure whether this device is a material drain on the battery overnight. I suspect not, but can't seem to find any way to measure battery strength in volts. Anyone find this display setting or meter? Cav
  2. I would be interesting to know what is different about the 2011 Edge cars that ARE working. Perhaps post the version of Sync updates applied? My new 2011 Edge (bought yesterday) has the same problems listed in this thread. I updated the Sync to version 1.3, but the website indicates there is a Dealer-installed update yet to be performed. I wonder of the "working" cars out there had the dealer patch applied? Cave
  3. Another odd thing, is although the Sync features do not appear to be activated (all I get is the demo voice when connected), I CAN successfully initiate and then read online a Vehicle Health Report. I would assume this health report uses the standard Sync connection.
  4. I'm having the exact same problem so you're not alone - on a new 2011 Edge picked up a couple of day sago. Sirius tech support ran out of ideas... and says "it is probably a Ford problem".
  5. Anyone else having this issue? Just picked up a new Ford Edge 2011 Limited the other day, and both the Sync and Sirius Sat radio subscriptions are problematic. The Sirius Radio subscription has successfully activated providing both audio and traffic overlays within the onscreen navigation application. However the remainder of the Sirius package is unsubscribed (weather, sports, gas prices, ski reports, etc) - even though I'm supposed to get 6 months free. I spent an hour with Sirius tech support who feels everything is working successfully from their end. They suspect a Ford issue. The Sync has not been activated at all. When I connect up to sync, I just get the demo voice which ultimately tells me I need to activate the service. I've created my online account and used the same cell phone number - but I just can't seem to get the sync service to work. On the Ford SyncMyRide forum, several other folks seem to have the same problem. Ideas? Anyone else finding the same problems? Cheers, Cav
  6. I'm doing my research now... trying to figure out the best method of installing a VHF/UHF antenna and radio. I'm also wondering if I can piggy-back on the FM/AM antenna wire pass-through. Haven't taken a look yet, but it seemed like an interesting idea to avoid drilling any additional holes or using a through-glass antenna. If anyone has a better idea, chime in. Cheers
