You're right there MOF. Those are illegal in most states and CAN get you hauled over. Your ride can CAN get impounded til you take them off. Also, if you get rear ended and the other guys insurance company makes an issue of your BLACKED out brake lights, you can be apportioned some of the blame. "Blacking out" lights that are intended for VISIBILITY..well that's just DUMB

The FORD warranty is good USA and/or Canada..I got it straight from FORD. We are buying a 2011 in the USA and bringing it up to Canada. The "taxes" paid are the same whether bought in US or Canada. A

Hi, first time poster here. I've been "looking" at the Edge for a couple of years now as a replacement for the wifes 2002 Escape. Several of her friends have "shopped" but 3 decided on the Hyundai Santa Fe, VS the EDGE and other small SUVs. To be fair, I will rarely be driving it..maybe 10% of the time. "Mine" is a 2007 F-150 XLT Supercrew 4X4. Anyway, her parents have has good results buying rental return (lease) vehicles over the years (4 or 5 of them). They usually have well over a year left on the warranty (most are titled less than 8 months) and many are under 20K miles for significant savings ($ 10K under new price). For example, a couple of months back, a FL dealer had a 2010 SEL w 15K miles on it for $ 19,995. Anyway, the plan is to sell her Escape and start looking for a rental return 2011 Edge next Spring.. Unless she changes her mind and goes with her pals and gets the HSF..I'm holding out for the Edge. Does anyone know if the SEL Edge comes with a OutSide TEMP gauge ( both my F series trucks have them) WITHOUT getting the MyTouch - SYNC package..Dont want/need all the blue tooth/talk to the dashboard/ fiddly stuff..just REG gauges and the OAT A

Close ! I have a 2007 F-150 XLT Supercrew 4X4 5.4 with the 6.5' box. Been a good truck so far..only have 30K on it. I agree with you on the Ford Quality. We're selling the wifes 02 Escape and going to a 2011 Edge SEL next Spring. They' ve both been good vehicles (So was mt FIRST FORD: 1969 Fairlane 2DHT w/302 Auto.) I hope I can get the same rsults out of the Edge...looking forward to it. Alan
