Went back through the tunnel after work, lost the reception and MFT took the box away this time :happy feet:

Hit First Glitch Listening to Sirius and I went through a tunnel and lost reception, Screen now has a box ( No Signal) in the middle of the screen that wont go away even though the station is coming in crystal clear now Box is only there when listening to Sirius- Change to AM/FM radio and box is not there

September 14, 2011 Edge at shop Sept 8, 2011 to Sept 14, 2011 APIN installed and system upgraded to 2.11. Seems that the APIN is also an updated version, according to service advisor Ford has revamped the APIN modules. System seems to be working smoothly. I noticed on the new version that when you open a door the screen doesn't come up with the ford logo, just a light blue glow until you turn the ignition /aux on then the Ford logo comes on and then the system is ready to go in 3 or 4 seconds So far so good

Once the new APIN is installed, my Edge will be running MFT Version 2.11 The rental car I have is the new 2012 Ford Focus Titanium, it has the Basic MFT, no Nav or Camera I hate to see what this would cost if the Edge wasn't under warranty. I wonder if Ford would consider offering a lifetime free replacement of MFT components & labour to us owners that have the 2011 & 2012 versions of MFT. As it seems not a question of if it will Fail or Glitch but when

Service dept has to rip the dash apart, pull the APIN, get the build numbers off the casing, send the info to Ford, Ford then has to ship a APIN programmed for my edge. I think if all goes as planned a week down time I have a rental paid for by Ford ( 2012 Ford Focus Titanium)

UPDATE Apin Module Toast - New one on order

2011 Ford Edge Sport AWD New May 9, 2011 6,726 Km- Sept 7, 2011 MFT Version 2.8 - Factory installed Between May 9, 2011 & Sept 7,2011 3 MFT Screen freezes, reset by pulling negative battery terminal each time 2 Performing maintenance screens observed 1 black screen of Death - Sept 7, 2011 - System will not reset. No screen, no radio. no camera etc Tried pulling the negative battery terminal and let sit for 1 hour - no luck Service call to dealer tomorrow September 8, 2011 Will let you know what they find

Something else to think about. Edge Build Job 1 vs Job 2 Job 2 - March 2011 - Present. Job 2 build date has different mirrors,and changes to MFT, but more importantly has an upgraded roof to meet higher safety standards

That hazard button location has bit me a couple of times, i need to remember not to rest my hand on the lower edge of the panel.

I've had my 2011 Ford Edge Sport AWD since May 9, 2011 & 1,400KM to date Except for the mishap with the undercoating by the dealer, my Edge has been awesome. I Love it. I'm over my Roush Mustang.( Mostly)-(Sunny days are a little tough still, not sure I will ever get over the sound of the supercharger) :peelout: Edge came installed with version 2.8 MFT from factory It has been perfect - None of the issue's that have been mentioned on this site. Connected to an iPhone 4 , everything available is working flawlessly - Pairing, contacts, Bluetooth, music, voice dialling no misaligned panels, no rust in doors, no squeaks an all-around solid ride Overall :D

I've had my 2011 Ford Edge Sport just over a week and close to 700Km. Everything worked great out of the box ( Knocking on wood) I had my check list of things to look for from all the comments on here. My Edge passed them all

Some other fees that came up though: $30.50 registration fee $199 Lien fee $695 Financing fee ( says its for them to do all the paperwork ) $924.50 - Total Also Note: $ 1000 Costco rebate is mailed out to you by Costco 3-4 weeks later- ( My Dealer wouldn't take it off as downpayment, said too many people were using expired Costco cards and then they were not able to get the money back)

Picked up the car today Picked up somemore money today also. Asked to see the invoice Was Told XPLAN Was $ 46, 717 Xplan when I asked to see the invoice from my factory build $ 46,361.12 Plus I showed them the Ford partner plan legal info were it says no document fees can be added ( $499 savings) Saved additional $844 today :happy feet:

Oh Man - I just knew things were going too good to be true Recap I have been posting in the form the progress of my Edge and my luck has run out. 1.Told 10-13 weeks to get my Edge ( Arrives in 6.5 Weeks) :happy feet: 2. Ordered March 20,2011 3. VOC & VIN Recieved March 22, 2011 4.Window Sticker April 4, 2011 5.Production started April 11, 2011 6. On a rail Car to West Coast April 18, 2011 7. 3/4 of the way home April 25, 2011 8. Arrives at dealer May 3,2011 9. Ford PDI May 3 2011 10.Protection package installed May 4, 2011 Luck Runs out. 11. Edge picked up from undercoaters by lot personel, no one thinks to check if it is 100% dry before driving off in the pouring rain: Disaster 12. They are still cleaning the Edge up, the yellow stains were down the side of the Edge, but I got there after they started to clean it up 13. May 5, 2011 Pick up Cancelled 14. Dealer said they will make it right To sum it up all i can see now is the yellow stains on the white paint, I hope it my imagination Travis

Tomorrow afternoon can't get here soon enough This wait of 6 1/2 weeks for the Edge wasn't bad. Thanks I would have to say the same about you I've been following your HID kit install, do you have pictures of the install (Wiring) and Ballast location etc. I see you got the DDM kit 9006 55W 5000K Is this the kit and accessories you bought ?
