Waldo, my problem lies in "how much is too much?" Certainly knowing about it makes it worse, and it knocks the new car shine off a bit, but what about down the road? If this is starting off life being reported a "damaged vehicle" then hell no I don't want it. Cosmetic issues? Well that's another matter, especially if it means I don't have to wait another two months for my car. How do I know? Is there any issue with having the windshield replaced by the dealership? Somebody at work told me that she didn't have hers done because she didn't want the "factory seal" broken - meaning the factory couldn't do it as well? Doesn't make much sense to me, but I thought I'd ask here...

That's just it, nobody I have talked to actually saw it happen. The rust looks up close to be transfer only - not from within. I actually just got a call from my sales guy (who feels horrible, unlike the manager) who said "We got lucky - it's all cosmetic. Should be ready for this weekend" Here's the original photos if you're curious...

My new '11 Sport is here! Got the call and was excited until they called me back - some idiot jacked the windshield getting it off the truck (*%$&($*#*@($&@*($&@($(*& Sigh... Now what?? If I re-order, it'll be another 8 weeks... They're supposed to call me today to see about damage, repair time estimate, etc. I'm sooo disappointed... I went over to the dealership to inspect the damage and took these pictures.

My dealer told me Friday that my '11 Sport's status is now "in the body shop". When I asked what the hell that meant, he said that "all the edges get created on the same line - then the sports get shipped off to the body shop where they put the different ground effects and other stuff on it that's special to the sport". A separate process for the Sports? This sounds horribly inefficient. Anybody else heard anything about that? As a side note, can I tell anything from the build date on the window sticker about my car? Mine's 7/20. I'm excited but getting impatient.... Thanks!
