Usually if you buy the wife a nice piece of jewelry, they let ya do anything (tee-hee).

Holy sheeeeeet, 10 minutes is nway too long for the lights to stay on. With My '12 MKX they stay on for maybe a minute. I would check your owners manual to see if there is a setting to adjust the time. If not, get it back to the dealer.

Hey Cellbine, Congradulations on the birth of your adorable son, Nathan. God bless all of you.

I'm afraid that if I tried using steel wool on my wheels, they would yell 'OUCH' ! I have used it on chrome bumpers years ago, but never plastic.

Yes, I have a '12 MKX AWD, has been great in the 15 months that I have had it. Had 3 Explorer (1995, 2002, 2006) before gettinf the MKX, all were great, just wanted to "treat myself". My wife has a '09 MKS, almost 4 1/2 years already, and it stilk looks GREAT, and luv it.

To Touch or not to Touch, what's say you?
JOEHIO replied to txken's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Have touch with nav in my MKX, had 1 or 2 minor glitches, would not be without it. You might reconsider getting navigation, the price is no where as expensive as it was a few years ago, and has many great features, and it's always there. -
Please ..what fuel type recommended for Edge 2013
JOEHIO replied to EdgeLimit13's topic in Owner Impressions
Unleaded REGULAR, premium is blowing your money out the door. -
Sounds sweet, black on black really looks nice, enjoy your Edge.

Hey Paul, You can go to website Edmunds.com, to price out a new Edge, and get online quotes from local dealerships. Not sure about the 2" hirch, any dealer should be able to help you out with that, and as far as cutoff date, I think it's sometime in spring, not sure when. If Freemont Ford has been good to you, why not stick with them ? We were with one Ford dealership for 19 years, then we got my wifes MKS and my MKX at a different (Lincoln) dealer. Lots of luck on your hunt.

Enjoy your new ride, and welcome to the Forum, a nice place to loose some time.

I'm pretty much on spot with my MKX AWD, and actually do better on the highway than Fords predicted 23 mpg's.

Hey oskar27, Probably one of the best, longest lasting waxes on the market is one called Collinite 845 insulator wax. Check with Edgieguy and Richy, who are on the forum, they will testify how great it is. Edgieguy put a post, with pics, when he did his Sport, it's somewhere in here, you can go a search on Collinite, and probably find the post. I used it on my car and my wife's, and the water beading is amazing. The only thing with Collinite, is you should have the temperature around 60 degrees or warmer. Joe

Hey Matt, I have a '12 MKX, and have no problems at all with it. I would definately get it back to the dealer and have it checked out. Where are you located, I have cousins with the same last name, one is here in Jersey, one is in 'Vegas.

Go vout and get your Edge, you'll love it. What kind of deal were you getting with the "gently used" Edge, was it woth considering, and getting the deler to throw in an extended warranty?

Wax, wax, wax, the best thing to do for a new car. When you take it to get undercoated, make sure they are careful not to get the undercoating on the painted surfaces.

What would we do if we didn't have the Internet, and 'The Forum', READ THE MANUAL??? -------------how old school is that !

Cornering lights?
JOEHIO replied to ioldsnut's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Cornering lights, oh, yes, I do remember them, and how GREAT they really were. Had them on my '93 Taurus SHO, why (aside from cost factor) did the auto manufacturers do away with them? -
Congrat's on your find, March 4th probably can't come soon enough for you.

Opinion on selling my 2012 Ford Edge limited
JOEHIO replied to SherryMO73's topic in Owner Impressions
Are you looking to downsize to a vehicle that is a lot smaller, or looking to go to a Fusion Hybrid, or something like that? As RHELLER stated, the 1st year is the hardest hit with depreciation, do you really want to take a SUPER beating, financially? Learn to love the colour, unless in is puke green, with hints of brown. I don't think that Ford really put out a horrible colour, and as far as options go, for me a car is NEVER optioned out, too much.- 3 replies

Extracting CDs from a broken player?
JOEHIO replied to TheWilldog's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Had ssame problem when I had my '06 Explorer. Hit eject button, and when the unit is trying tom eject a CD. take another CD, put it just part way in the slot, to help guide out the Cd that is in there. -
The only problem I see, is how are you going to secure the rear portion? T think that Lexus (RX350) has side bars (attach to walls of car on each side) are all 1 piece.ight look into it. Better yet design and manufacture a system that will retro-fit Edge's & MKX's, and make a cool million or two !

Limited59, I went with the wood trim because I was afraid of reflection from the sun with the metallic look. I have black interior, and the dark wood looks good ( IMO ) with it. One advantage about not having wood trim is that the entire steering wheel is heated, as Omar made mention of. With wood, you do not get heat where the wheel is. I never thought that a heated wheel was anything important, but I have to admit, it's pretty nice to,have.
