  1. Welcome aboard, and congrat's on the Edge, looks real sharp..
  2. Welcome to Ford Country, you'll love it !
  3. Price doesn't seem too bad if it's pretty well loaded with options. If it's a base SEL, it might be a bit on the high side. Go to Kelly Blue Book or Edmunds.com, to price out with options.
  4. Very well said, TheWizard. I've always used what octane the manufacturer reccomended.
  5. Have my MKX almost a year and a half, and have not experienced any problem like this at all. Tracks straight as an arrow. Hope those of you with the problem get it resolved. I have 20 " wheels with Pirelli's on it.
  6. Wish you the best in your decision, The Edge/MKX are great. Unless you need lots of room (large family?) look at the Edge. The explorer is nice, too (real nice), but on the large side.
  7. At 6 months old, I don't know if you really would need to clay bar your Edge, maybe just a wax with a cleaner(Meguires). or just a cleaner would be okay, depends how "dirty" your paint is. I've helped friends do their cars, and the Meguires wax with a cleaner cleaned them up nicely. Years ago, Meguires had a liquid cleaner out that really did a nice job, but I haven't seen it out for quite some time. You will definatelyget excited with the Collinite, GREAT stuff, it is.
  8. I'll be HAPPY :hyper: tomcome down, providing MKX's are allowed.
  9. How about a grill from, lets say, a '74 Pinto ?
  10. I found out that if I put the gas in at "med" or "slow" setting, the pump does not shut off as early, also, less air in tank, as compared to "high" setting.
  11. Hey Bob, Congrats on the Edge, and I too, do not go for the 'paint protection' packages dealers offer. There are a lot of good quality waxes out on the market. I have used Meguires products for years, then this past November, tried Collinite 845 Insulator Wax, as others in this forum have used. Well, guess what - washed the cars the other day, and they still "bead up" nicely.
  12. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :heartbreaker:
  13. After you open the sunshade of your roof, hit the button again, the roof should slide back. When it stops, hold the button and the roof should continue to open all the way. Reverse for closing - hit button, shouldn close except for last 6 inches, then continue holding for it to close completely. Enjoy the new ride.
  14. Doesn't Best Buys Electronics sell On-Star ??? Can be put in any car. Just a consideration.
  15. Hi Yuhuan, First of all, Thank you for serving our country, serving in the middle east. With regards to the Edge, prices will probably vary from dealer to dealer, and month to month, so I guess you have to wait til time gets closer to making a deal. If you can find an Edge with around 12k a year for mileage, that would be nice, but more important, is to check on service records, make sure service has beeen kept up on it. I would consider getting an extended warranty, as new Edge's gets 3/36. True, extended warranty's are not cheap, but with all the elextronics and computerized crap, and modules, repairs can get costly. Wish you the best, and welcome back home.
  16. Go in with a POSATIVE attitude - THEY WILL BUY THE PAYMENTS.
  17. I've heard of people doing early lease terminations, for 2 and three months with no problems. Friends just ordered a new Explorer, will be a 2 month, possibly 3 early termination on theEscape that theyb are currently leasing, dealer has no problem absorbing 2-3 payments. When we bouight my wife's '09 MKS, years ago, we had done a 2 year, 1 pay lease on the Ford Five Hundred that she was in. Paid all payments up front when we picked up the Five Hundred. We looked at the MKS, but still had 2 months left on the Five Hundred lease, so the Dealer cut us a check ($1,100) for 2 months lease return tom get into the MKS at that point. Sales are kind of slow, dealers should be willing to workwith customers.
  18. Sorry to read of your problem, builder1, I'm sure your dealer will correct the problem. Probably some stupid relay or something, that went waclo. Limited59, I've been happy with the ride with my 20 inchers, no problem at all. For mee, too, the 18's seem a bit on the small side.
  19. I agree with fishx65, American made. I have owned mostly Ford products (2 GM's years ago), never had a major problem with them, and service has always been like the steak sauce - 'A-1'. True, the wife and I now own Lincolns, still another fine product built by Ford.
  20. Hi Jared, Well, just add me to your list of congradulations. You didn't just sit around on your butt to get this award. I'm sure that your hard work and efforts have made for many a happy customers. Keep it up !
  21. Makes you wonder why Ford didn't put Moulded front mud guards on the Edge & MKX like the rear ones.
  22. Okay, so you are a distance from Irvine. If we get to go, I'll give a shout. Enjoy the Edge, Tim. Regards, Joe
  23. Congradulations on getting the Edge, and welcome to the forum. Wish you all the best with the car. Might be heading out to 'Vegas in a few months, and then to Irvine to visit a cousin. Are you near there? Joe
  24. Yes, I did test drive the Edge, thought it was a great vehicle for the bucks, but liked the interior of the MKX a lot more. There is a lot nicer quality of leather in the "X", and more of it everywhere. Also heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats and steering wheel, power operated tilt/telescopic steering wheel, that goes up and in upon turning off the car. It also seemed quieter than the Edge. I have the 20 inch wheels in it, fills up the opening a lot nicer, and many people comment on the "cool wheels" on my car. They are the chrome clad ones. I also have the adaptive headlights, they turn in the same direction that you turn the steering wheel, a reallu cool feature. Also have power liftgate, and remote start, which I've gotten to fall in love with. Both are great cars the MKX just does it a little nicer.
  25. Just to add my 2 cents on the car. I previously had 3 Explorers (1995, 2002, 3006) were great Vehicles. Had more cargo room than my MKX, but definately rode like a truck. My MKX is a pleasure to drive, rides and handles so much nicer than the Explorers, and actually has more rear seat legroom than the Explorers had. Truwe, they are CUV's, but I wonder how many SUV owners go off roading? To each his/her own, I'll stay with what I have.
