  1. It's a prototype of an Edge Hybrid. called a HySeries.. on the door, those are graphics... the Gas filler location. that just might be one of Ford NO fuel door fills. you just stick the gas nozzle into it and squeeze. I see it and think, funnel and bag of sugar. Other than the flares. It looks nice in white. A can of Black Spray paint, can get you the same look. $5.00 at Pepboys.
  2. It takes a professional to come up with all this. PS kids, don't try this at home
  3. You worked at NAP, and have trouble with English? How many years do you have in this country then? I guess you took the 100G's on your exit.
  4. Would that have been perhaps a '65 Bonneville? I'm looking to install my 8-Track under the dash and looking for a good place, right now I think under the glove box will have to do it. I miss toggling between all 4 tracks to repeat one of my fav. tracks. Course having the 8-Track next to the under dash TEAC Auto-reverse cassette player, is impressive also. I started filling one of the cup holders with paper cups.. I've re-plumbed the windshield washer's to now dispense under the dash. And Replaced the washer bottle with a duo-reservoir one. So mixing the perfect martini is just a matter of twisting the washer knob to suit personal tastes. Gotta love American ingenuity.
  5. What are you going to compare? A totally loaded Edge vs. the MKX? You have to. Then you have to justify the price difference. But In that same article, you have to do the same thing with the Highlander. IF you can justify the price of a Bugatti, maybe you can write a good article. For help visit Lincoln.com. and you'll notice they say the MKX is good for a night out at the Opera. Forget how they classified the Edge. Or take a good look at the left side of this current Volvo print ad. http://www.detroitvolvodealers.com/Public/Home.aspx The smaller ad that directs you to this one didn't mask her. GAWD I love a good looking model. THAT woman is HOT! So the implication is that if such a nice woman as that gives a second glance to the car, then the man behind the wheel is someone she would like to be with. Never mind his combover. It's perception and sex appeal. It's finer points about the execution, than just slapping on a different cowhide. I went with the Lincoln, because I liked it and to me the price was right. Both half's of my brain fight over the following: I don't want to see a lot of them on the road, because I have something not just everyone else has, and it took for a while until I got here, if you can afford it, GET IT! The other half wants more on the road to help Ford, and both the Edge and MKX are the best looking X-overs out there. That body is the Mustang to the X-overs, per FoMoCo. If you find out that woman's name, pass it on to me.
  6. Here it is that White sure is damn pretty.
  7. I usually use my fingers to tap my left chest and say, "We'll need everything you've got." The male Nav voice, in a Scottish broke, replies, ""Aye. Warp drive standing by."
  8. That oil is recycled unless it's being drained in a ditch somewhere. I believe most oil base stock comes from Pennsylvania for Lub oil anyways, some of the finest oil around. Once it's out of the ground, it's out. Most recycled oil is cracked again and used for a lot of thing's, notably diesel fuel.
  9. Maybe others will find this helpful: Your new 3.5 L engine has an Aluminum Block and 4 Valve Heads. Machining tolerances are great compared to just 10 years ago. Actually each 'new' engine, Tolerances get tightened up considerably compared to the previous generation. What is causing the darkening of the Petroleum oil is blow-by. Combustion gases leaking past the rings, and mixing with the oil. Since the development of the Gas turbine, conventional oil was unable to hold up to the elevated temperatures encountered in them. Synthetic oil's were developed to cope with that problem. Thank your American Farmer the next time you see or hear about Soybeans. 'Oil's' in the last 8-10 years have seen a great improvement also. Ford did not go with 5-20W just for mileage reasons. It's lighter, flows better, less resistant. Motorcraft is a Blend of Petrol and Synthetic oils. ADDITIVES are what constitute the difference between 'oils'. Gas Turbine OIL is not changed out like other oils, Yes, during a major inspection, but those engines operate about 20 HOURS/DAY, day after day, month after month. At each inspection, the oil is just topped off. It's the additives that break down in an oil. When Ford upped the change interval, it's done by considering how long the oil will keep it's properties intact, with the Worst case driver. The SUV Cell-phone wearing, Soccer MOM, who has no idea what Oil is or where it goes. I think some GM's and other cars now can tell YOU, when to change your oil, instead of a set time frame. 'Normal' operation, which is approximately 90-95% of the people who will buy the Edge, is now 7000 miles. That would give a margin of error to 10K before the oil's lubrication properties were depleted and lubrication and anti-wear become a concern. I have a 2 year old Garaged Ford that has yet to roll over 4K miles, - Should I have changed that Oil yearly? I don't think so. I had a College professor, who wrote the text book being used, and I quote him: "Get the most expensive oil, and the cheapest gasoline, you can find". Times have changed! You ARE wasting money period, when you change oil under 5-7K miles. Just put in Any 100% Soybean Synthetic Oil and your Go to Throttle Up to 10K miles. As always, YMMV.
  10. I'm with you on this, I don't want mine showing up in a picture of my vechile's either.
  11. Hey, Look here is what happened.. When I, probably like a lot of others, click on new messages, you are taken to the last post. Well, when you have a LOT of large size pictures inserted full size into the body of a post, followed by other replies, the browser starts to scroll up and down as it's loaded. Then to fully view them you have to re-size your browser. I do know your happy about your Edge, But everyone here knows what they look like.. Really is one that much different than another? It's easier to view it in a post rather than a thumbnail, yes, but to be more considerate and not force someone to look, a Reference to a site or your album, would be much better. We could get into a war with mega-size pic's, off topic pics/posts, etc. Also when you started a topic and posted all those pictures into it, I didn't say a word. It was your topic, I said to myself, self I can either read or not read and go, but I don't have a right to say something about how he made it. Personally, I think BLACK would look better on yours, because of the black wheels and body, if someone saw the black calipers, then they were looking at the details, rather than the details sticking out to grab their eyes. And No offense to you either, Scoopo.
  12. NO their is NO problem here with Brakes, It's YOU. Your on here EVERYDAY, but you want to dig up a brake problem with people that own the vehicle. Doesn't seem to be a problem with the people that own one. You need to either take your complaint, with you really don't have now, do you? To Ford, or start looking for another vehicle. They call people that do this TROLLS. :beatdeadhorse: :beatdeadhorse: :beatdeadhorse: :beatdeadhorse: :beatdeadhorse: GET THE DODGE
  13. http://store.brandmotion.com/product_info....;products_id=68 This shows your ipod hooked up imside the glove box. You mean this wouldn't work in the center console like ford designed?

  15. AWD: I've driven for decades too and their was a time, when very few people had 4-wheel drive. 4+ Inch's of snow can be quite a bit, when you have to leave in the morning without it. I had an 88 Jeep, I paid something like $2K just for ABS brakes back then, and those damn thing's saved me from an accident in snow. I was glad to say, that just paid for itself. Since 88, it's been AWD. I've had the false sense of security it imparts. But I also know I can trust it to get me into and out of thing's a 'Car' would have trouble with. It has gotten me up the side of a mountain to visit an old cemetary back in the hollers too. When they say, having it on trade-in will help, I think that's bull. Right now and for a lot of coming years, their will be a glut on the market of SUV's, and 4wheel/AWD on it will probably mean nothing. I'd rather pay the penalty in gas mileage to have just one little bit of surefootedness, with it, rather than without it. Winters have changed where I live and I keep thinking we will get it like we use to, but I'm still glad mine says AWD on the back. I plan on adding a V8 emblem next to that too. Also the brush guard would come in handy if you have to face down Toro!
  16. Your lucky it was just the thermometer, and not the Odometer. That could have caused your vehicle to age prematurely and expire your warranty before it 'really' should have.
  17. Grumble, Grumble.... perhaps, it's that I have a large distaste for car salesmen. I suppose it's only me.
  18. I got one by Dupli-Color with Ceramic @ Pep-boys, about $15. Included everything your pic shows, EXCEPT, it was not a 2-part system that you have to mix. Those instructions stated you have 6 hours to use this, well it will take you longer than that to jack each wheel up, remove tire, remove caliper, 1 coat, wait 15 min, 2 coat, wait 3 coat, tire back on, down to next wheel. The rear uses a 15mm and front, 19mm wrench. Those instructions state you don't have to remove the calipers, but you might want to, to do a good job. I also used lacquer thinner to clean out the brush, and that brush lasted less than 1 coat on the first wheel. It states you should put on 2-3 coats, and wait at least 24 hours before driving after you do it. Pick up 2 extra disposable brushes. When I was done, I had about a half bottle left of paint. That is a spray contact cleaner, it dries very fast, and didn't really remove any dirt/dust. Pick up some lacquer thinner to clean the caliper. Plan one day to paint and next day for the 24 hour waiting period. I also saw a spray-can for calipers, but by-passed it.
  19. I've been to that site twice, but their was something about it i didn't like. I don't know if it was the info required of me to 'signup' or what, I can't remember, but when i left i had no desire to go back. It's their site to handle how they want, but it was something about being their, that made me feel uncomfortable. just my .02$
  20. Grey, an X-plan use to be called Friends and Family. That would mean niece's and nephews, and those can be scattered across the country. That dealership didn't need the name of who issued it at all. The number just needed to be checked to see if it was valid, and not made up. On a Side note, how do you feel about our dealership 'friend' Lou posting this? Hello Everyone: My name is Lou Rosario. If you are giving away your xplan pin numbers, I would be glad to assist your friend in the sale. Lou Rosario Here he is asking for unused pin's...
