I think I found an easier solution to this issue. I was able to slide a screw driver under the clip and rotate it a little to lift it up. I then slid a thick piece of felt under the end of the clip and dropped it back down. I purchased a pack of those round stick-on felt pads that go on the bottom of kitchen chair legs from the Dollar Tree. The one I used was the size of a nickel. The very annoying tick is completely gone!!!!:)
That is for the newer vehicles, such as 2021+ F-150, 2022+ Expedition, 2020+ Explorer, 2024+ Escape.
Older vehicles will require the calibration mats, such as 2015-2020 F-150, 2016-2018 MKX, 2018-2021 Expedition.
On the F150 forums several people added these after they were built and apparently the only thing needed is a large open parking lot as the straight lines are used for calibration. I’ll see if I can find a post/thread about it
Use OEM bump stops or cut them for B6 with HR springs? I'm looking to install new suspension on my ST because my rear shocks are leaking.
New OEM front strut tops
Bilstein B6
HR springs
What else should I get?
The A/C does not control or respond to the outside air temperature indication.
The outside air temperature sensor is in the air intake duct, and it will typically be warmer under the hood and cool down when the vehicle is moving.
Unfortunately it seems that most of the search results are either actually more expensive than the ET4Z-19G490-A variant or non-OE copies of dubious quality and compatibility.
I've had a similar problem in my 2024 Titanium. Upon starting, it will read 10-15 degrees hotter than it really is, then over about 5 minutes settles down to the real temperature. This causes the A/C to come on when it's not needed.
It happened last night, it was about 59 degrees, temp read 73, so the A/C came on. It was at night, so sunshine was not a factor.
It almost seems like heat is getting trapped around the sensor, then driving ventilates that area.
Ford's online parts-selling site offers no relief on pricing, but does reveal the Service part's prefix and suffix have changed to BT4Z19G490B, which yields a comparably broad range of web-searched sources & pricing...
