There are a couple of passages out of the "front" of the engine, which is on the passenger side, that coolant would weep through if it was a waterpump leak, but a full on water pump failure, like the fins are no longer there, could make it over heat (pushing lots of coolant out of the coolant bottle), but there are more likely candidates as mentioned above.

Welcome.   Suspect a blown head gasket - you can loan or buy a device from Autozone to test the cooling system for combustion gas to confirm head gasket issue, and/or a compression and leak down test.

Hi everyone, i'm about to get into replacing the water pump, but i thought i'd ask before i start tearing into it.  08 ford edge limited, 160k,  my neice was driving when engine started to overheat, was leaking fluid from passenger side, i'm guessing from the overflow container fluid was hot with air bubbles being pushed out.  (that's the description she gave me ).   her grampa changed thermostat but it sounds like coolant  is still leaking out the overflow.   this sound like a waterpump issue?   thanks Brian

At night, I can see a slight red reflection when I look back.   Too bad we don’t have any drive modes like an eco mode.

Compass would not calibrate. Unplugged car battery for 5 minutes, reconnected. Everything works except compass. Does not even bring up calibrate function in setup mode. Really not needed, but where did it go?  Jim

Welcome to the Forum @skidatyl!   Since your Edge most recently suffered an engine compartment fire, it seems unlikely it's still fitted with its original Power Steering Pressure Line Hose, but since you only mention O-ring replacements, this Special Service Message (SSM) from February 2015 states the hose installed on vehicles built after December 2, 2014 was in some way changed...     SSM 44951   2011-2014 Edge And 2011-2015 MKX - Excessive Power Steering Noise When Performing Low Speed Turning Manuvers - Built On Or Before 12/2/2014   Some 2011-2014 Edge and 2011-2015 MKX vehicles built on or before 12/2/2014, equipped with 3.5L or 3.7L engines, may exhibit a whine, hiss, and/or howling noise that can be heard with all windows up when performing low speed turning maneuvers. To correct this concern replace the power steering pressure line with part number BT4Z-3A719-D and applicable service kit 8E5Z-3A705-A. Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 211-02. Any one found the resolution to this. I'm on the 3rd o ring now. It only blows on hard turns in parking lots. The last time resulted in a engine fire.  

@dabangsta: Try conducting your ACC brake activation test at night on an unlit road with no following vehicle, perhaps with a helper driving in front of your Edge to induce its ACC braking.   Brake light activation should be evident in your Edge's cargo area and/or in your Edge's exterior rear-view mirrors.   Good luck!
